so i went to quizno's yesterday with johnson for lunch. i was waiting for him so i decided to buy a newspaper to read in the meantime. i read part of the sports section, and he finally got there, so i left my paper on a table and went to go buy lunch. i returned to see a man reading my paper at my table. no big deal, because they usually have papers at fast food places so you can read them. so i went in to get it back, and to my shock, he had all of sandwich juice spilled all over my beloved sports section. i was so sad. he said sorry once, finished his sandwich, and boned out. he ran across the street. he didn't even look back, or ask if he could buy me another paper. he just left the dirty, wet newspaper on the table. dang jerkface.

had a fun weekend. tiring, but fun.

friday night went out with some of tammy's friends. they are pretty cool.

sat night i went to two weddings. i've said this at least 76 times, but it was real trippy to watch my friends go down the aisle. one of the girls that got married was my age, and I think her husband was my age too. they both went to biola, and they both graduated a year early, and they're white. they only went out for a year and a half, but now they're married. i've been with tammy for three years. crazy stuff. but anyways, it was cool to see some of the folks from high school even though there were only like 10 of us there. me and weinie stuck out like sore thumbs because we were the only freggin asians there. it was awesome.

the second wedding i went to were of a couple that were seniors when i was a freshman. they actually got together after they graduated, but i think they kinda liked each other throughout college. it was so strange because the guy john was in my small group when i was a freshman, and now he's freggin married. ahhhh. what's going on here?!?!? he asked me to usher there, so i went a little early to help out. that was the best. i tried to escort old korean people by walking in front of them and leading them, but while we were walking up they would just stop and sit down. i was confused at first, and then sad, and then i just ended up standing still and just pointing towards the front. muy muy divertido.

sunday was the same old stuff, and then we went to bj's to celebrate andy and nina's birthdays. andy is the best. we were there from 7pm waiting for him to come because he had gone out with his family for dinner. we called him and 8 and his dad said he had just left. so we waited til 9, and called him, and he was sleeping. he claimed that he thought we weren't there when he got home at 8, and so he went to sleep. it was pretty funny. so this guys strolls in at 9:30, while everyone is angry at him for not coming earlier. but not that angry i guess.

anyways that's it. i went to sleep early so i could get here by 7:30, and here i am!

i'm tired.

i think i have found the solution to make eating by yourself more bearable.

the newspaper.

after eating by myself on a few occasions (twice) while i've been working, i've found that it gets a little awkward when all you do at a restaurant is eat, especially when you're by yourself. when you're with other people, you chat, otherwise its awkward. when you're by yourself, you need something to look at other than your food. and you definitely can't look at the surrounding people either. so to fool other people and yourself that you're having a jolly good time eating by yourself, you need a device as mentioned.

the newspaper, although plain in the eyes of most laypeople, is the perfect solution. it is cheap, costing a quarter or two, and can entertain for around 15 minutes, no matter what your interests are. if you are into sports, like me, section C in the LA Times provides this comfort.

next time i need to get a newspaper before i head out to eat by myself. you should too!

don't worry, everyone eats by themself once in a while. admit it!
