when i was little, me and my friends went to the arcades a lot. we would walk around the arcade when we ran out of money and tried to see if anyone had accidentally left a quarter in the change slot or something. so when we would get that free play or find that random quarter, it was like winning the lottery. dang, memories of galaxy 3000 baby. haha.
yesterday was a freggin busy day. sg basketball tournament in the morning, pcn in the afternoon, and hawaii club luau at night. i was exhausted when i got home. when i woke up this morning, i tried to get out of bed, and laid back down because my back ached...
i'm getting old.
i've never had back pain in my whole life after playing sports. i'm so sad. another reason i think i'm getting old is because my memory isn't as sharp as it used to be. i used to be able to remember the smallest details, but now i don't even remember stupid things like the fact that i have hw or something. good thing college is coming to an end next year. at this rate i don't think i'll be able to walk around campus without some help.
can't wait for the semester to end, but i don't want the summer to come. can't we just skip ahead to the last week of may and just stay there?

sorry about the delay! the review is now here! go down to the capitalized REVIEW part if you wanna skip my fun day. i doubt you will though!
so we left around 3 hours early for the screening and ended up getting to the theater at around 5. janet was like... it's ok, it'll take like 30 minutes to find parking. but right as she said that we turned the corner and guess what, there was a nice space right there. haha. so we walked up to the theater and went inside to see how long the line was. there were 5 freggin people. FIVE!!!!!! i was like..... crap, a little early? haha. so we walked around for a lil bit and went back and stood in line and got to see the movie.
as we were walking in we saw like 10 blt posters on the walls, and i really really wanted one. but i felt bad just taking it so i didn't.... it would turn out to be a fatal mistake. ok not fatal, but it made me sad alright?
but before the movie started they were giving away free t-shirts. they were asking random questions, so i answered one right and i won one. too bad they started the movie right after i answered my question, so i didn't get the shirt. i even yelled out saying "can i get my shirt now?" but to no avail. i only got laughs of pity from the people around me.
REVIEW
i'm not gonna lie and say this was the best movie of all time, because it wasn't. dumb and dumber was, and it will never be replaced. that being said, i still really enjoyed this film. it wasn't like all other asian films where they play the "feel bad for me cuz i'm asian" theme throughout the movie. i actually don't think there were any references to the characters being asian, except for in one fight scene. i respect that. the director had a story to tell, and he just did it. i also liked this movie because it was real different from other hollywood movies. it left me unsettled. the ending left me waiting for some closure, but there was nothing. i usually don't like to think too much during movies, but there was some deep stuff that was brought to my attention. i don't wanna ruin it for anyone, so i think i'll stop now. so what are my final thoughts? think for yourself and go watch the movie tomorrow playa!
so after the movie one of the actors from the movie was there to answer some questions. roger fan (derek in the movie) was his name. it was ok i guess, except for one lady that asked a stupid ass question and it made me mad. after that we went up to the front and i asked for the shirt i had won. too bad they had freggin run out! those jerks. i also tried to get a poster but freggin a they ran out of those two. and there weren't any on the walls either. they were all gone :-( instead i just talked to that guy for a lil bit and janet took a picture with him. he's a real cool guy, down to earth. and then we left. and that was our eventful night.
please go watch the movie. i dont' wanna get all dramatic with this stuff, but if this movie does well it's really gonna open up the doors for other asian american films in the future. so please pay your eight fiddy, buy your ticket, go sit down, and just watch. i promise it'll be worth it.

got back from my softball game an hour ago. it was fun. but that was only the beginning. if you read my previous post you know that i was gonna go watch blt on friday, april 11. anyways, i had signed up for like 3 ticket giveaways to see if i could get hooked up with passes, but i never win stuff like that so i was signing up just to sign up. so i get back from softball, and see this email in my inbox:

i was ecstatic. i called andy and told him about my triumph even though we were discussing earlier how we would never win. sure enough, i was one of the victors. haha. too bad it's on wednesday and if i even get my tickets by that time we're (andy and i) gonna have to head out early like at 5 to wait for the screening that's at 730. o well, free is free right?
now i just gotta get my hands on those dvds...

great weekend. was talking to some friends when we came to the conclusion that we play too much. what is the definition of playing too much?
7 trips to tahoe. in one semester. and the majority of those aren't one day trips either.
it's ok, college is a once in a lifetime experience right?
on a different note, there are two things i wanna watch in the next two weeks. this friday i wanna watch better luck tomorrow. i've wanted to watch that movie since last spring, when it was here for the sf asian american film festival. too bad no sheks wanted to pay the $45 to go to the screening and then the q/a session with the full cast. stupid sheks! that was a once in a lifetime experience, before the movie got big. make sure to watch it. comes out friday, april 11th.
i also wanna watch/buy the family guy dvds. seasons 1 and 2 of the funniest show are now on dvd. i'm excited, except for the fact that they cost like 40 bucks. dang. after all those trips i have no more dinero. guess i will have to stick to renting them until someone buys them for me. hahahaha. those come out next tuesday, april 15th.
make sure to watch both, they'll be great.
time to go to sleep. stupid daylight savings......

which reminds me, i have the best shirt. andy got it for me while he was working at that movie place. it's a tuxedo shirt, but the only bad thing is that it's really really small. my nipples and stomach make an appearance when i wear that shirt, but it's ok, it's a lot of fun.

ooooooo wait. some great news i forgot to include.
my brother is coming to cal next year.
when he found out, everyone in our family went crazy. we were all happy. i'm glad he's coming up. even though i'm only gonna be here for a year with him, it'll be a lot of fun. and i'm already looking forward to the raiders/chargers game. haha.
i think my dad was the happiest of all of us though. if you don't know my dad, he is the epitome of frugalness. haha. he is tight. it's a good quality, but sometimes it's just really funny. anyways, so before he got into cal, he had gotten acceptances from irvine and usc. my dad wanted brian to go to irvine, but my bro wanted to go to sc. the difference in tuition was huge. usc is like at 39k per year or something like that, while uci is like 15? anyways, my dad was really against him going to sc but my mom and i were putting some pressure on him to let my bro go to sc. so when he found out my bro got in, he was ecstatic. he was reallllly happy. i haven't seen him that happy ever. he wasn't even that happy when i got in. haha. before that he was bitter though, cuz my bro didn't get into some schools, but after..... he was a new man. which is where i came in. i made sure to milk his happiness by getting some extra pocket cash from him before i left, while he was in this state of deliriousness. and of course it worked to a charm. i hope my kids aren't as conniving as i am. but i do hope they're as clever. hahahah
great great spring break. tahoe was awesome. home was a lot of fun. will talk some more about that later.
i still remember swimming in the summer. we went to glassell park in eagle rock to get trained for lifeguarding. it was me, tammy, mike, stella, and tim lee. we went there 4 times a week to train and learn how to do stuff like cpr. anyways, i was reminded of this because i drove by the pool with tammy and then at church i was talking to mike about the good times we had. i miss the summer.
we would walk in, passing by the hot dog stand on our way to the locker room (yum) and get changed in the damp chlorine smelling room. then we would swim some laps and start training. you haven't experienced anything until you've jumped into a nice and cool pool after working up a little sweat. that feeling is awesome. did that today at strawberry creek, but too bad i got tired after a couple of laps. dang i'm weak.
gonna try to head up everyday from now on. swimming is a great workout. and plus it tires you out like mad. after i got home from swimming i took a four hour nap. haha. that's why i'm up now doing my stupid paper.
this post had no structure. i think my mind started jumping around. i'm tired. i thought writing about video game systems would be easy, but no, it sucks.
